Job description

Lift Your Career: Become a Major Component Technician in Wind Energy! 🌪️🔧

Are you ready to take your skills to new heights? We’re looking for a Major Component Technician to join our dynamic team, supporting critical repair and replacement operations across the UK, Europe, and beyond. If you’ve got the flexibility, safety focus, and expertise in major component exchanges, this role is your next big move.

The Role: Keeping Big Parts in Motion

As a key player in our Major Component Exchange Team, you’ll work on crucial projects that keep our wind turbines—and those of our valued customers—running smoothly. Your days will revolve around major component exchanges and technical repairs, requiring precision, adaptability, and a deep commitment to safety. Whether it’s swapping out gearboxes or managing crane operations, your skills will be at the forefront of our success. Having a background as an AT, CT, or slinger signaller will give you the edge in this role, and a European passport is a bonus for those occasional international assignments.

What You’ll Be Up To:

Main Component Support
From prepping the site to executing the job, you’ll ensure every major component exchange goes off without a hitch. This includes:

  • Preparing sites, coordinating with crane operators, and conducting ground pressure tests.
  • Removing and installing major components—gearboxes, generators, blades, and more.
  • Performing banksman duties, guiding heavy equipment safely on and off-site.
  • Handling slinger/signaller duties to ensure the work area is set up according to lifting plans.
  • Taking on AT and CT duties to ensure safety from the system during all component removals and installations.

Service Support & Maintenance
You’ll also lend a hand with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across our turbine fleet. From diagnosing issues to keeping detailed service records, your expertise helps us minimize downtime and maximize turbine performance. Plus, you’ll be involved in special projects like onboarding new turbines to our fleet and embracing the latest industry trends.

Safety & Quality: It’s in Your Hands

Safety is more than just a buzzword—it’s your priority. You’ll stick to strict safety protocols, keeping an eye out for any potential risks and ensuring that every component meets our high-quality standards. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining the integrity of both electrical and mechanical systems, making sure everything works seamlessly together.

Collaborate, Innovate, Elevate

You won’t just work alongside your team; you’ll push for improvements, collaborating with engineers and operations to find new ways to boost performance. Your insights will help us optimize turbine operations, keeping us at the cutting edge of wind energy.

Job requirements

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proven experience as an AT, CT, or slinger signaller.
  • Expertise in major component exchanges, including mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and lifting operations.
  • A valid driver’s license and the flexibility to travel across the UK and Europe.
  • European passport is a plus for international assignments.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and handle physical tasks.
  • Passion for wind energy and continuous improvement.

If you’re ready to take on the challenges of major component exchanges and become a vital part of our service support team, we want to hear from you. Apply today, and let’s keep the turbines turning! 🌍💨
