Team Leader - Major Components
As a Team Leader for the Major Components Team, you will play a leading role in ensuring the efficient operation of Major Component works. You are responsible for leading, motivating, mentoring and supervising the team to conduct high quality works of our turbines with safety at the forefront and centre. As the Team Leader, you are also responsible for providing regular updates to the Major Components Manager and you provide feedback on the Technicians performance within your region.
What You'll Be Packing Into Your Day:
1) Major component exchange
Onsite preparations including the support of crane hire surveys, ground bearing pressure tests and customer project meetings.
Onsite execution of major component exchanges on various turbine types including the mechanical and electrical removal and installation of all turbine main components,. Gearboxes, Generators, Blades, main bearings etc.
Banksman duties for escorting heavy plant on and off project locations Slinger/Signaller duties for the preparation of the work area in accordance with the lifting operation method statements.
AT and CT duties ensuring the provision of safety from the system on the removal and re-installation of all main components.
2) Leadership, Continuous improvement & Collaboration
You provide regular updates to the Major Components Manager on the progress of maintenance, repair or inspection work and escalate issues as they arise.
You meet with the technicians within your region for bi weekly/monthly toolbox meetings.
You share knowledge with the control room and encourage other technicians to do so.
Supervise, train and inspect the work of the technicians, ensuring best practice is followed at all times.
Mentor and support Technicians.
Provide input and feedback to Major Components Manager for appraisals and probation reviews of technicians in your region.
Responsible for understanding the escalation process and executing it as required.
You will work with the control room and Service Planner to co-ordinate scheduled/unscheduled maintenance in the region.
You take one day every second week as a day out of the field to complete team leader duties.
3) Quality & Safety
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
You are responsible for checking and maintaining quality of all components relating to wind turbine, as well as recognizing interconnections within the system’s architecture.
You are accountable for the safe and effective operation of electrical and mechanical components within the wind turbine.
4) Continuous improvement & Collaboration
Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to implement improvements and optimize turbine performance.
Job requirements
What You Bring to the Table:
You have a valid driver’s license.
Previous experience leading in major component exchange or wind turbine installation.
Previous WTSR competency as CT AT or AE having working on multiple technologies.
CPCS Slinger/Signaller or Crane Supervisor certification (desirable).
European Passport (desirable).
High school diploma or equivalent; additional electrical/mechanical education or certification in wind turbine maintenance.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems as applied to wind turbines.
Proficient in using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
Previous experience working as a Team Leader.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
