What You’ll Be Handling Day-to-Day:
1) Maintenance and Repair
Perform basic and complex fiberglass repairs on wind turbine blades. This includes reading and following work instructions, layup schedules as well as using tools and techniques typical of the composite repair trade.
Preform Leading Edge protection repairs using various products.
Keeping all rope access gear, blade repair tools and company vans in good condition.
When weather conditions do not allow you to do blade repairs you will support in processing blade inspections using software to run and create reports.
Liaise with clients and site operations crew to ensure scope of job is understood and well executed.
You are responsible for producing repair reports and ensuring the checklists are completed as required.
2) On the Windy Frontline
During all activities you are responsible for maintaining customer contact on site to update them on the status.
3) Safety & Quality: Your North Star
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
You are responsible for checking and reviewing QHSE documentation and procedures, making recommendations for improvement as required.
You are accountable for the safe and effective operation of blade components within the wind turbine.
You are responsible for monitoring vehicle standards and ensuing vehicle inspections are completed.
4) Catch the Breeze of Improvement
Supervise, train and inspect the work of Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, ensuring best practice is followed at all times.
Mentor and support Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
Job requirements
What You’ll Need in Your Toolkit:
Able to work a rotation pattern 2/1.
You have a valid driver’s license.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional electrical/mechanical education or certification in wind turbine maintenance.
You have completed level 1/3 rope access IRATA.
You have completed a GWO blade repair course.
You demonstrate the potential and willingness to manage a team of Technicians on a day to day basis.
Expert technical knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repair of turbine blades.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Soft Skills for the Win(d):
Strong communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Highly organised and able to work under pressure.
Able to work well within a team.
